A group of very enthusiastic year 5 and 6 children arrived at school decked in red, white and blue, and carrying union jacks at 6pm on Wednesday.
Our destination was the Royal Albert Hall and a trip to the annual National Music for Youth Schools Prom. WE enjoyed a fabulous evening and sat virtually in the percussion and choir section!
Our musicians were inspired by the variety of excellent ensembles, varying from African drumming, jazz bands, Scottish ensembles to the Belfast Youth Orchestra. The balloon drop as we sang 'Land of hope and Glory'.at the end was eagerly awaited.
The final highlight came at the end when the children were invited into a box to view the stage from a very different perspective. We arrived back at school full of tales about a splendid concert and a great evening out.
